New Milestone for French Mining Leader in Global Lithium Supply Chain
French mining company Eramet has successfully completed its first export of lithium carbonate from its operations in Salta, Argentina. The shipment, totaling 40 metric tonnes, was delivered to China by Eramine, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eramet.
Centenario-Ratones Project Boosts Lithium Output
Eramet’s lithium carbonate is produced using advanced direct lithium extraction technology at the Centenario-Ratones salt flat. This innovative approach positions Eramet as a competitive player in the rapidly growing global lithium market. Although technical specifications for this batch were not released, Eramet remains confident in its production capabilities and market readiness.
Strong Outlook for Lithium Carbonate Production
Eramet expects to produce between 10,000 and 13,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate from its Argentine operation in 2024. As global demand for battery-grade lithium continues to surge, this milestone underlines Eramet’s role in supporting the electric vehicle supply chain and clean energy transition.
