DFW hub anchors a national recycling network
HyProMag is advancing a Dallas–Fort Worth hub for NdFeB magnet recycling and manufacturing. The DFW facility will produce 750 t/yr of recycled sintered NdFeB magnets. It will also deliver 807 t/yr of NdFeB co-products over a 40-year life. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.
Spokes in Nevada and South Carolina accelerate feedstock and scale
The company is studying new facilities in Reno and Williston to supply the hub. This hub-and-spoke model reduces logistics and speeds scrap-to-magnet turnaround. The expansion study supports up to four additional magnet production lines. Partner ILS is stockpiling HDD magnet scrap and providing site-sharing at both spokes.
The Metalnomist Commentary
The plan tightens US circular supply for NdFeB magnets as demand rises in EVs, wind, and electronics. Execution risk centers on feedstock continuity and end-market qualification, but early HDD scrap aggregation is a smart hedge.
