Binhai raises anode output to capture fast-growing EV and storage demand. Binhai raises anode output by 58% to 25,700t in January–June. As a result, Binhai raises anode output and sales to strengthen its position in China’s anode market.
Capacity growth and sales momentum
Tianjin Binhai produced 25,700t of anode materials in the first half. The figure rose 58% from 16,300t a year earlier. Meanwhile, sales reached 23,400t, up 35% year on year. The company operates 40,000 t/yr of capacity today. It acquired Xiangfu New Energy in May 2023. Xiangfu started output in November 2023 and supports Binhai’s growth.
Expansion pipeline and market outlook
Xiangfu is building a 200,000 t/yr anode complex. The first 100,000 t/yr phase targets start-up by end-2025. Therefore, Binhai’s integrated footprint should expand materially. China’s anode demand reached 1.83mn t in 2024. ICC Sino forecasts 2.22mn t in 2025 and 3.4mn t by 2028. This trend aligns with rapid growth in EVs and energy storage.
